Community Services and Programs
Kingdom Vision Ministries(KVM) Community Service Programs are community-based to assure the health, safety and welfare of:
· At-risk Youth
· Proactive Youth Advancement
· Elderly and/or Aging persons
· Ex-Offenders
· Impoverished Families
· Teen/Unwed Mothers
to enjoy wholesome and meaningful living, as well as, continue to contribute to the strength and welfare of the community.
KVM is keenly aware of the great need in the rural and semi-rural areas of South Carolina where our services will be concentrated. KVM “With Every Beat of My Heart Is Life” health program provides medical services to the community such as annual health screenings, workshops on healthy eating and nutrition, chronic disease management, and the importance of physical exercise.
Our Scholars program focus on high school students training and preparation for higher education. We conduct an annual SAT-Financial Aid Workshop for students and parents. The students receive training from one of the country’s noted scholars in SAT training, and parents receive extensive training in financial aid and scholarships. KVM sponsors youth for the Aunt Berta’s Education Foundation a two week summer law school program administered by the Minority Law and Research Institute. KVM co-sponsor a youth summer dance camp for youth ages 5-17. The camp allows youth to express their creativity through dance, attend workshops on teen related issues and dance as an art, and expression of creativity through the talent show. The KVM youth programs target young people up to age 17 years and brings together youth of the community to develop leadership, building self-esteem and positive self-image, coping skills, health, and community awareness. The programs also allows parents and community to come together to provide resources, and take part in the development of our youth.
Our programs mainly assist economically disadvantaged persons or residents of underserved areas in the rural areas of South Carolina where 12.5% of families are below poverty level and extreme impoverishment exist. Our focus is Darlington, Florence, Lee, and Marion Counties consisting of 83,000 households with 15,000 households making less than $10,000 per year and a median household income of $39,837 per year. These statistics represent some of the very real challenges that our rural communities face and are ones we plan to impact positively. Hence, KVM seeks resources that will enable us to continue our work to provide services to the entire population of Rural America. Services that KVM provides contribute to the common good by enabling persons who are in peril to survive and thrive. Many of them who are young or who are in their prime working years will become productive citizens. Elderly persons who are being neglected will be cared for in ways that are consistent with the principles of a humane society. Jobs are critical for reducing poverty and providing youth with a brighter future. Executing or programmatic agenda provides charitable, educational and community support that will raise the economic, educational, social and spiritual quality of our community.
